Introducing New Work from Sydney’s Beaches

Hi Everyone,

Introducing new work from Sydney, Australia! This addition to the Australia collection was photographed in January 2025 at the peak of the famed Aussie summer. Inspired by Australian coastal culture, these images capture a timeless sense of place that you’ll want to return to again and again.

Most of the collection was shot using my Nikon F-601 camera with Kodak Gold 200, 35mm film, lending a retro warmth and nostalgic tone that feels like summer from another era. I also opted to capture aerials with my DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone equipped with a Hasselblad lens, offering a unique perspective we rarely experience.

Below are six of my favorite moments from the series.

Southern Steps of Bondi

I’m drawn to the turquoise water and the vibrant pops of color from the bathers’ towels. Captured on film, the image feels nostalgic, as if pulled from another era. There’s something beautiful about how immersed these bathers are in their surroundings—whether part of a daily ritual or a holiday escape, they’re all sharing a quiet, sun-drenched moment in time.

Top Sundeck

Everyone’s eyes are usually drawn to the pool or the sweeping view over Bondi Beach, but the Bondi Icebergs sundeck tells its own story. Here, bathers stretch out with intention, lying parallel or perpendicular to one another, deeply focused on perfecting a tan, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet moment alone.

Mates

Two mates take a running leap off the northern platform of Clovelly Beach capture a fleeting, joy-filled moment in time. I love the sense of spontaneity it adds, and their movement brings energy to the frame. When I look at this image, I imagine myself diving into the water because in this moment, that’s exactly where I want to be.

The Espy, Manly

This moment unfolded right in front of me; the girls at Manly, gathered at the edge of the Espy, watching boys jump before them. It was spontaneous, perfectly framed, and completely unposed. There is something tender and bold about the moment—the risk, the observation, the thrill.

Tamarama Beach

The shape of Tamarama Beach naturally lends itself to photography—the cliffs wrap around the cove, creating a striking backdrop while beachgoers go about their day below, seemingly unfazed by the steady stream of walkers on the Bondi to Coogee track above. The characters within the frame become both themselves and stand-ins for beachgoers everywhere, captured just as they are—unapologetic and real.

Relaxation

I’d be remiss not to include one of the aerials from this collection—Clovelly Beach has a charm unlike anywhere else. The concrete platforms create a unique geometry, and in this frame, one bloke leaps joyfully into the water, arms raised mid-air. The swimmers below move in poetic, rhythmic strokes—something you rarely notice from the ground. I love the dimension and color in this shot; it’s playful and full of character.
